Dr. Marc Zimmerman

Dr. Zimmermann is the psychological consultant of Serenity Center. He is a licensed medical psychologist with more than 40 years of experience in chemical dependency evaluation and treatment. He has been in private practice since 1980, providing comprehensive psychological services to adults and adolescents.

Dr. Zimmermann began his career in Bexar County, Texas, where he helped establish the first inpatient chemical dependency treatment at Bexar County Hospital. Since then, he has been a consulting psychologist for numerous law enforcement agencies, Baton Rouge area chemical dependency units, employee assistance programs, and major corporations. He is a recognized forensic expert in several states, providing expert psychological testimony.

He currently serves on the Louisiana Board of Examiners of Psychologists, the Behavior Analysis Board, and the Medical Advisory Committee for the Louisiana Workforce Commission.

Dr. Zimmermann earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1977 and earned a post-doctoral M.S. in Clinical Psychopharmacology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1999. He was licensed as a psychologist in 1978 and as an advanced practice medical psychologist in 1999.
