If you are aware of anyone that is struggling with some form of substance or alcohol-related addiction, the Serenity Treatment Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has proven to help countless numbers of men and women free themselves of addiction. Housed in a serene, safe and warm environment, our team of compassionate individuals is truly devoted to helping each client overcome a life of addiction. In fact, as a testament to the success of the center, many staff members have experienced addiction in their own lives, allowing them to identify with and support those seeking to recover.
Dedicated to providing a safe and protected recovery environment, the Serenity Treatment Center implements various inpatient and outpatient programs that lead to the healing process, including the 12-Steps of AA coupled with other important programs. We are an accredited facility, with our accreditation coming from The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), a non-profit organization that specifically accredits rehab organizations. Founded in 1966, CARF’s mission is to help service providers like rehab facilities maintain the highest standards of care.
While we emphasize personal responsibility and self-discipline, our programs are created to address and focus on helping those seeking freedom from substance addiction. If the client is committed to beating their addiction, we will do everything in our power to help them reach their goals. The following are some of the programs that are incorporated into our plans.
The 30-day Residential Treatment Program targets the addiction to drugs and alcohol coupled with a solution for families that must recover together while temporarily living apart.
We at the Serenity Treatment Center believe that family relationships play an essential role in the recovery process, as it enhances and strengthens family relationships both for the addicted individual as well as family members.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) includes educating clients on the various aspects of addiction, thus identifying psychosocial stressors that lead to substance abuse. During intensive outpatient treatment, we follow both the 12-step Model and Recovery Dynamics in addition to providing relapse prevention and life skills training.
The Intensive Outpatient Program typically lasts four (4) to twelve (12) weeks, meeting three (3) times a week. IOP also offers a day as well as a night program to accommodate most schedules. The day program meets Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The night program meets Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Our Residential Treatment Programs (inpatient treatment), including Inpatient Substance Abuse Programs, offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment.
This allows clients to focus solely on recovery, separate and apart from their work, home and social lives. Our 30-day residential stay focuses on the addiction to drugs and alcohol along with a solution for families that must recover together.
Substance Abuse Rehab is a treatment structure that focuses on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, such as alcohol and drugs, including illegal and prescription drugs.
The substance abuse rehab or rehabilitation program often allows clients to engage in both individual as well as group therapy, offering both the physical and psychological aspects associated with this form of abuse. Our experienced team of experts provides professional guidance and encouragement during the client’s time of need.
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment.
The beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those that have been hurt by the addiction. The final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way.
The goal of treatment when addressing alcoholism is abstinence. Success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. We at the Serenity Treatment Center offer alcoholism programs that take the approach that when a client abuses alcohol, they must have help to release the need, or they return to using alcohol again when facing challenging life situations.
Our expert counselors combine the perfect balance of support and experience to help clients release their dependency on alcohol.
Recovery begins by taking the first steps into a treatment program, and often that requires a detox program like the one offered here at the Serenity Treatment Center.
Detoxification or “detox” is a medically supervised program involving abstention from alcohol and other addictive substances so the body is free of these toxins.
Family therapy is beneficial for both you and your family. Family is your blood relations as well as spouses, significant others, and close friends who you consider family.
Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when family participates in rehab and substance abuse treatment.
Given that genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, the Serenity Treatment Center and its team of experts believe that family relationships play an essential role in the recovery process.
During individual therapy, a client meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor.
Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often helps to uncover the root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the client in their social, family, and work/school life.
Nutrition Therapy, aka Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet.
Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians. Clients follow these plans to positively impact their physical and mental health.
Group therapy is any therapeutic work that occurs in a group and not one-on-one. There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more.
Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
